I fell in love with writing before I could tie my own shoes.

When I started kindergarten already reading and writing, the teacher scolded my mother for pushing me. “Push her?” My mother laughed. “I couldn’t stop her.”

And I haven’t stopped since. I earned bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts, where I focused on fiction. My writing has been published in newspapers, magazines, and across the Web. I’ve had a screenplay optioned for development, and I’m currently seeking representation for my first novel.
